Machine Shop Supervisor

At our Houston, TX manufacturing facility, you will lead and supervise a team of hourly employees, driving performance to meet or exceed goals in safety, production, and quality. In this role, you will manage production staff, promote a strong safety culture, and inspire employees to achieve high productivity levels. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with other supervisors and team leads to effectively address and resolve production challenges.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

Responsible for managing the machine shop operations by supporting machine operators in all functions related to CNC programming and operations.  Oversee the shift schedules, including workstation assignment/rotations, employee training and day to day leadership and guidance. Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set up requirements. Perform / manage all functions relating to CNC Programing with M&G Codes and Mazatrol Conversational Programming and M&G Codes on Vertical Mills and Lathe Design fixtures and optimize CNC programs to reduce run time  Support and implement 5S +1 and Lean initiatives to enhance workplace organization and efficiency.  Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers  Schedule and conduct daily toolbox meetings  Ensure productivity, safety, and quality key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Follow established company policies and Quality System procedures, ensuring products meet specifications and rejecting those that do not. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)  Close jobs and ensuring all materials are issued Create and maintain Work Instructions for all job functions. Assist in production as necessary.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

Diploma in any related field 3+ years of job-related machining supervisory experience Ability to read and understand reports, blueprints, and transition sheets. Strong planning, organization, problem solving, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Prior supervisory or leadership experience including direction, engagement, and coaching. Effective communication skills: verbal and written (English). Ability to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

4+ year bachelor’s degree. and a minimum of 1+ years of experience in machining with similar supervisory responsibilities ISO experience  Previous Oracle experience and solid computer skills
