Summary/ General Description of Responsibilities:
The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment. Work involves most of the following: examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts. Responsibilities include replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock, and ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs. Duties also include preparing written specifications for major repairs or for the production of parts ordered from machine shops, reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation. In general, the work of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Physical Requirements:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to hear and speak. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Lifts exceeding 50 pounds will be accomplished with two-person teams and using appropriate safety equipment to efficiently accomplish the task.
Required Job Qualifications:
+ High School diploma or equivalency.
+ Valid State Driver's License.
+ Knowledge of mechanical, electrical procedures, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components of industrial plant support machinery and equipment.
+ Knowledge of operating characteristics of the involved systems and equipment, and the applicable installation and repair procedures, methods and trade practices.
+ Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable codes and standards.
+ Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional & courteous manner in diverse situations.
+ Proficiency and knowledge of a variety of hand and power tools.
+ Demonstrated working ability read, write, speak and understand English.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications: Valid State Driver's License
Work Schedule:
+ Full-Time (40 hours per week)
+ Position may require various shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays and/or Holidays
