Machining Supervisor

Miller Brother Staffing Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for a Machining Supervisor position for a foundry located in Erie, PA.  This is a Direct Hire Position, 2nd shift, with a pay range of $55,000-$57,000 annually. 


Direct Hire

Machining Supervisor—non union position

Shift: 2nd shift M-TH 2pm-11pm, F 2pm-10pm

Pay Rate: $55,000-57,000 Annually

Screening Process: Candidate will have to pass a Urine and a Hair Follicle drug screen—drug free facility.  Background check--candidate must be open to a criminal background check. Company will do the background check.
 

Job Summary:

The Machining Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and leading the daily operations of our machining department. This role requires a strong leader who can manage a team of machinists, ensure efficient production processes, and maintain high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC machining, excellent problem-solving skills, a proven track record of successfully leading teams, and computer skills.


Must Haves

5 years of machining experience—the priority must have!! 2 years of shop floor supervisory experience Thorough understanding of blueprint reading Thorough understanding of precision measuring devices

 

Duties

Team Leadership: Provide direct supervision to CNC Machinists and Crane Operators Production Oversight: Monitor and coordinate daily machining activities, ensuring that production schedules and deadlines are met. Quality Control: Ensure all parts are manufactured to required specifications and meet industry standards for quality. Implement and enforce quality control procedures. Safety Compliance: Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols. Address safety issues promptly. Machine Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of machining equipment, working closely with maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in machining processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Training: Provide on-the-job training and development for machinists, ensuring that all team members are skilled and up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production planning, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any operational issues. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, employee performance, and machine maintenance activities.
