Machinist - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machinist - 2nd Shift. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. The rate for this position is $31.99 per hour plus a $.50 per hour shift differential. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

Main responsibilities, but not limited to:
•    Perform all necessary Maintenance and Repair to keep Dies running to optimum Production capability.

•    Drill Press
•    Overhead Jib Crane
•    Tape Measure
•    Calipers
•    Micrometers
•    Hand Tools
 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: 

Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorshipNo relocation is available for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Reno, NV facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution.One to three years of manufacturing, design, tooling, and tool designing.Previous experience and / or education in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)Previous Experience working with machines to include but not limited to CNCs, Lathes, Mills, etc.

This may be to determine if Die is dull or cracked and needs to be resharpened or repaired.  Ability to determine if the poor quality of a product is the result of a tooling problem, or a setup problem.  Able to Perform Die Changeovers for different products.Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for checking dimensions.  Good math skills, good judgement and a mechanical aptitude a must.  Must be skilled or have a strong ability and desire to learn the operation of lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.  This employee is working with die that must be moved with die carts due to weight and must be extremely safe due to weights, equipment being used and sharpness of materials involved.  Safety record is important to maintain.  Employee will lift & carry with or without accommodation up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50lbs occasionally. Employee will stoop, bend occasionally and walk frequently.  Must be on feet all day.
