Machinist A – CNC Milling

The Machinist A – CNC Milling is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision parts within required tolerances and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities: CNC Programming & Machine Operation (80%) Write and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks). Set up and operate CNC milling machines per blueprints and specifications. Design and build fixtures for machining operations. Select and secure tools, fixtures, and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements. Monitor machining processes, adjust settings, and inspect finished parts for accuracy. Safety & Maintenance (10%) Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area organized. Follow safety procedures, including proper machine operation and material handling. Reporting & Miscellaneous (10%) Maintain production reports and quality records. Participate in training and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming OR completion of an apprenticeship OR company training. Minimum 5 years of experience as a qualified machinist. Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation. Strong knowledge of blueprints, GD&T, and machining processes. Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, and inspection tools. Strong math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry). Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong time management and communication skills.
