**Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description** This position operates multiple moderately complex machinery for production parts and basic fabrication tasks within the assigned area under minimal supervision. The machinist works with established instructions and support from the Unit Specialist or trainer. The position is responsible for the set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of various manual/CNC machines, secondary machinery, and polishing equipment. **Responsibilities** + Operate various secondary, manual machinery, and CNC machinery within the assigned area with moderate supervision, including Bridgeport, Single Turret CNC Lathes, Vertical CNC Mills, CNC Brakes, and CNC Punch Press. + Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning. + Safely and efficiently route parts using material handling equipment. + Inspect personal production to achieve and maintain quality standards and make recommendations for improvement. + Actively engage and participate in department continuous improvement efforts, implementing improvements to processes, programs, tooling, and fixturing. + Work collaboratively within the team to maintain a neat and organized workstation. + Achieve and maintain productivity standards, follow all safety guidelines, and maintain an acceptable level of dependability. + Understand and complete documentation needed to comply with policies and procedures appropriate for the position. + Follow safety guidelines, identify potential safety hazards, and initiate corrective actions when necessary. + Actively participate in all department, quarterly, and company meetings. + Perform other duties as assigned, as per the job family and skills matrix. **Essential Skills** + Experience in machine operating, blueprint reading, and operating CNC mill and lathe. + Proficiency in operating CNC Lathe, Swiss Screw, Drill press, and other machining equipment. + Ability to operate CNC Swiss machines. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with CNC machinery and secondary machinery. + Ability to perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning. + Experience in implementing continuous improvement efforts. **Why Work Here?** This organization is a staple in the community and offers a large opportunity for long-term careers. Manual hand dexterity is necessary to grasp and operate tools and equipment repetitively. The role involves walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and occasionally kneeling, climbing steps, and twisting throughout the entire shift. Some areas may expose workers to chemicals, noise, vibration, and dust, requiring the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and foot protection. The ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHA’s respirator use requirements is also necessary. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newberg, Oregon. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
