Machinist

The successful candidate will be responsible for dimensional and visual inspections of new parts. Creation of new parts as per company dimensional drawings from castings or rough stock, also touch up machining of used parts. Candidates must also be familiar with machine operations on different types of materials and have experience with manual lathe and mill operations. Safety and Quality of work are key components of this position. Candidates will be working in shop environment, with some field service as needed.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE: 

Makes all set-ups on tooling and machine. Able to run all machines in the shop efficiently. Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques. Uses shop math through trigonometry. Machines parts one at a time, but with production techniques. Machines from prints and can make from samples. Able to machine from bar stock and raw castings. Re-machine parts to repair them and still maintain critical dimensions. 4 Jaw Chuck knowledge needed Responsible for personal safety and those around them.  Maintains excellent housekeeping standards. Participates in Safety, Quality and Activities Committees (if applicable). Final inspection and completion of inspection report. Signing and documenting date compliance sheets. Adherence to all safety, quality, company rules and regulations. Responsible for personal safety and those around them.  Can maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

2+ years of previous industry related experience. Experience operating CNC machines (CNC Mills, and CNC Lathes) Ability to work in Canada without need for sponsorship now or in the future
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

High School diploma Journeyman Machinist Ticket is an asset Demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary systems  Strong communication skills both oral and written Ability to meet deadlines  Ability to prioritize competing demands  Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred  Understanding or work experience with Fisher and Final Control product preferred. Experience in the process control industry (valves)
