Job Description
We are looking for an experienced machinist to bench/polish plastic, aluminum, iron, and steel foundry tooling after the parts come out of the CNC machine. The successful candidate will also rig foundry tooling with provided machine components. Daily tasks include receiving machined tooling from the machinists, polishing to required specifications, assembling provided machine components per drawings, drilling, tapping, and milling tooling as needed, and maintaining a clean working space.
ResponsibilitiesReceive and polish machined tooling to required specifications.Assemble provided machine components per drawings.Drill, tap, and mill tooling as needed.Maintain a clean and organized working space.Essential Skills1-3+ years of experience as a machinist with manual machining skills.Experience in reading calipers and micrometers.Proficiency with axis mills and lathes.1-3+ years of experience in manufacturing or machining with bench operations, including assembly, polishing, buffing, and drilling holes.2-4+ years of experience in setting up and programming 3-axis vertical mills and lathes.Ability to interpret construction drawings and blueprints.Experience with lathe, drill press, CNC mill, hand tools, power tools, and blueprint schematics.Mechanical aptitude and ability to use a tape measure, bandsaw, and other machining tools.Proficiency in Fanuc programming, calipers, fabrication, and inspection.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to operate air-powered tools such as die grinders and sanders.Ability to work from provided basic drawings/sketches.Basic knowledge and use of manual machine shop equipment and machining tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).Physical ability to stand for approximately 70% of an 8-hour shift, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift parts safely.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Our work environment is a relatively clean, climate-controlled machine shop with low turnover and a workforce that has been with us for many years. While a lot of the work is independent, you will still collaborate with other machinists, operators, and shop personnel. The shop has a total of 11 employees.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00
