As a Machinist, you will operate a range of manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, and drill presses to build precision parts according to blueprints and specifications. Reporting to the Welder A, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and quality during the machining process, from selecting the correct materials to final inspection.
You Will:
+ Determine appropriate materials for each job.
+ Set up machines to accept parts, planning the machining sequence.
+ Review blueprints or specifications to identify correct bore, drill, and cut locations.
+ Calculate proper feed rates, select tools, and monitor the accuracy of holes or cuts.
+ Measure finished parts using the appropriate equipment and deburr parts when necessary .
+ Machine any details that may have been missed and route parts to the next station or final inspection.
You Have:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ At least two years of experience in a machine shop environment.
+ Ability to read tape measures, perform precise calculations with fractions/decimals/degrees, and maintain close tolerances.
+ Proven ability to interpret drawings and build parts to specifications.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
