**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
Plan machining processes by reviewing machining schedules, job orders, blueprints, engineering models, plans, bills of materials, specifications, sketches, and machining parameters, while interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Troubleshoot potential issues with CNC and G code, making necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet detailed prints. Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation; calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and proving part programs. Set up and operate surface grinding equipment to meet finished requirements as per detailed prints. Change over mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tool holders, tools, attachments, collets, stops, mounting and indicating vices, and tramming heads. Fabricate machine components with precise tolerances. Maintain specifications by observing drilling, boring, and cutting processes, including turning, facing, knurling, and threading operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; and replacing worn tools and components. Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to standards set by external and internal customers. Inspect work for quality during and after completion using instruments like micrometers, calipers, verniers, gauges, and pins. Demonstrate organizational skills and share knowledge willingly. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Perform general maintenance and upkeep on machine shop equipment. Unload and load stock trucks periodically, and neatly store incoming materials.

+ Set up and operate surface grinding equipment to achieve finished requirements in accordance with detailed prints as released.
+ Change over mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tool holders, tools, attachments, collets, stops, mounting and indicating vices, and tramming heads.
+ Fabricate machine components with common tightly held tolerances.
+ Maintain specifications by observing the processes of drilling, boring, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and threading operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; and replacing worn tools and tooling components.
+ Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to all standards set by external and internal customers.
+ Inspect work for quality in process and upon completion using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, verniers, gauges, pins, etc.
+ Demonstrate organizational skills and willingly share knowledge.
+ Clean and maintain a secure, safe work environment.
+ Perform general maintenance and upkeep on machine shop equipment.
+ Unload and periodically load stock trucks, as well as neatly store recently arriving material.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with lathe and mill operations
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints
+ Manual machining skills
+ Ability to set up and operate surface grinding equipment
+ Troubleshooting skills with CNC and G code
+ Proficiency in using measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, verniers, gauges, and pins

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $66560.00/yr.
