**Description** **Position Title: Machinist/Presses/Flite Roller/Drills** **Department: Production** **Location: Clay Center, KS** **About AGI** AGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities. **The Opportunity** Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties. **Responsibilities:** + Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. + Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. + Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. + Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. + Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. + Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. + Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. + Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated. + Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. **Qualifications:** High school diploma/GED – required + One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training. + or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to read prints and follow instructions. + Ability to read, interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Basic computer skills required to be able to perform online training, timekeeping, other required company events taking place online or using a computer. + Basic – advanced math skills as applicable to the tasks at hand. **Why AGI?** We’re leading the way in global food supply chain solutions and here’s how: We’re the leading global expert in providing farmers, processors and commercial customers with the right equipment and customized engineering solutions to produce, protect and deliver the world’s grain, fertilizer, seed, feed and food supplies. Dedicated to safety, innovation and customization, AGI offers one of the largest catalogs of equipment and full-service planning and engineering services for the storage, blending, mixing, conveying, conditioning, and processing of agricultural products worldwide.
