**Job Title: Machinist Assistant**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Machinist Assistant to perform secondary machining operations, monitor and run CNC screw machines, and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of these machines. The role includes performing initial parts inspection, grinding basic turn tools, and ensuring logs are kept current. The ideal candidate will keep the work area clean and safe according to 5S standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform secondary machining operations
+ Monitor and run CNC screw machines
+ Perform initial parts inspection
+ Grind basic turn tools for production tooling
+ Clean and maintain CNC machines
+ Ensure the work area is kept clean and safe to 5S standards
+ Keep logs current and accurate
+ Assist Machinists in day-to-day production and manufacturing functions
+ Perform additional duties as directed by the Manager
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with microscopes, inspection, and machining
+ Ability to work with small parts and perform repetitive tasks
+ Good organizational skills and attention to detail
+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Previous cGMP and/or ISO experience preferred
+ 1-year machine tool experience/general machining ability (measuring devices/blueprints) preferred
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually
+ Ability to stand, walk, and reach frequently
+ Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally
+ Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
+ Close vision required to use microscope, read documents, and operate copy machine
+ Distance vision required to drive an automobile, if applicable

**Work Environment**

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Escondido, California.
