POSITION SUMMARYOperator sets up and operates all machining equipment associated with the manufacturing of Tantalum and Niobium products, specifically, Lathes, milling, drilling, and cutting, ensuring the highest finished product quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Sets up, operates and programs lathes both manual and CNC.Sets up, operates and programs milling machines both manual and CNC.Sets up and operates saws and drilling equipmentInterpret drawings and plan work in a proper operational sequenceSelects and sets “speeds” and “feeds” based on material being processedUse precision measuring tools to verify that all work is completed within the required tolerances.Inspects and maintains all tooling required to support the machining process.Performs troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.Required to process material samples as required.Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and standard operating procedures to ensure personal safety and high product qualityMaintains work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition on a daily basis by following 5S Standard Work practicesCross train in other process areas as time permitsQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Requires a high school or vocational degree or equivalent.1-3 years of machine shop experience is preferredDemonstrated mechanical aptitude. Must know how to operate lathes and milling machines.Display competence in operating and maintaining more than one machine in defined departmentAbility to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English languageThis position may require the applicant to be licensed under certain United States laws and regulationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
