JOB TITLE/LOCATION:
Machinist II – Baldwin Park, CA 2nd Shift
DESCRIPTION:
Machinist II is responsible for performing skilled machinist duties under limited supervision. Work with mills and lathes, operate complex machines using computer aided devices and perform preventive maintenance of machines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machine for the process. Perform all of the Grade I requirements. Contacts supervisory personnel when raw product, events or finished products are not conforming to required standards. Maintains and performs preventive maintenance on machines and related systems. Records machine data for reporting and record-keeping purposes. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnelThe preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job function. EDUCATION:
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
3 years of recent working experience in CNC Lathe. Completion of a 2 year technical/trade school in machining (preferred).KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must be able to read engineering blueprints and planning. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, strong multitasking ability, and an interest in learning new skills/technologies required. MUST be well organized, works well with others and flexible. Broad skill set who is not afraid to tackle multiple tasks. Knowledge of tooling speeds and feeds offsets and minor program changes. Ability to prove out programs. Setup, program, and operate two CNC Lathes (Okuma). Perform tool adjustment as required. Work with Engineering to make tooling. Able to use inspections tool to inspect parts. Perform ancillary activities and other duties as assigned. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
