Machinist (Manual Lathe Experience)
At the direction of Shop Management, the Machinist is to perform typical duties of a traditional manual machinist working with horizontal lathes, vertical milling machine, general machine shop equipment: band saws, Bridgeport drill presses, grinders, as well as some welding.


Machinist Essential Responsibilities

Set up and operate conventional lathes, mills, balancing equipment, and commutator profilerAbility to machine housings, shafts, keyways, and sleevesMust be familiar with common industry tolerances and fits for motor repairFabricate products to meet established quality standards and the requirements of our customersEstablish and follow maintenance schedules for shop equipmentProvide technical expertise as neededMaintain a neat and orderly work area at all timesOrganize and maintain personal and shop tools and equipmentWilling and able to work OT as required


Machinist Necessary Qualifications

5 years mechanical assembly and disassembly experience preferredManual Lathe experience requiredAbility to read mechanical prints and schematicsAbility to work independently and in a team settingBasic knowledge regarding use of a PCCompetent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists, etc.Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical theory requiredValid and clean NYS driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed


Physical Requirements

Ability to Stand for 8 HoursAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to work on elevated platformsAbility to climb laddersThis position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reachingYou may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions


Salary Commensurate with Experience (Range between $22 - $38/hour)
