Job Title: Cleared Outside Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a 1st Class Outside Machinist with 6 years of experience and an active security clearance. The role involves the overhaul and repair of pumps, motors, valves, and other auxiliary equipment. This position requires specific submarine torpedo tube or sail experience and the ability to provide your own PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. Work will be conducted at HII and NNSY in Virginia. No medical qualifications or specific certifications are required.

ResponsibilitiesOverhaul and repair pumps, motors, valves, and other auxiliary equipment.Perform open, inspect, and repair work on components of marine seawater, hydraulic, and diesel systems.Repair and restore propulsion shafts, shaft couplings, and vibration reducers.Remove, inspect, and repair various fairwater, stern plane, and steering & diving system components.Remove, inspect, and repair components such as periscopes, masts, and antennas of submarine sails.Repair and overhaul ship’s weapons and ordinance systems, including torpedo tubes, launchers, and weapons handling equipment.Install and repair foundations for operating machinery and principal structures/components.Essential SkillsExperience as a Machinist Mate, Gas turbine mechanic, or Engineman.Active or recent Secret or Confidential Clearance
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00
