**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
As a Machinist, you will use precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as lathes, manual milling machines, drill presses, hydraulic presses, band saws, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment. You will fabricate and shape parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal. Your role will involve properly selecting, aligning, securing, and removing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. Additionally, you will read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, and determine the proper tools required to perform given tasks.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to produce large, precision parts.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
+ Set up and adjust machinery to ensure accurate and efficient production.
+ Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
+ Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
+ Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
**Essential Skills**
+ 6-10 years total job shop experience.
+ Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane.
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
+ Micrometer/Caliper experience.
+ Experience with blueprints, planers, Bridgeport mill, vertical turning lathe, horizontal boring mill, grinder, hydraulics, large parts, calipers, and gauges.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Forklift and crane experience preferred.
+ Programming experience a plus.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is very labor-intensive, involving equipment that can be 40-50 feet in length. The noise level is usually moderate to high. We have openings on both day and night shifts with flexible hours. Examples of day shift hours include 5am-2:30pm, 7am-4:30pm, and 9am-6:30pm. Night shift options include 11pm-7am, 3pm-11pm, and 6pm-6am. Training is conducted on the day shift.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Full-time position based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00
