Job details The Machinist analyzes specifications to operate all mold shop machinery to fabricate thermoform molds, tooling components, and closure and label machinery parts; repairs existing molds and hi-die cutting knives.

Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. ... - Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to fabricate parts.
- Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications.
- Calculate and set machining parameters (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, angle of cut) and input machine control data as needed.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and make adjustments as necessary.
- Verify and document critical dimensions and alignment of thermoform tool and components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Working hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments beyond basic tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Education:
High School

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop setting.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating all shop machine tools.
- Skilled in inspection equipment, measurement methods, and tool repair procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and SOPs.
- Logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in shop math, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Understanding of thermoformed (sheet) plastic processes.
