The Presort Mailing Technician tends the machine that inserts printed matter, such as letters or booklets for USPS MAIL into folders or envelopes: Stacks quantities of inserts into machine pockets and turns setscrews to adjust feeder mechanisms, according to thickness of material. Starts machine and replenishes pockets with inserts and booklets. Performs periodic maintenance on machines related to mail inserting and assists Mechanics in identifying machine problems.

 YOUR TASKSPerforms and verifies own machine setups prior to manufacturingMaintains Integrity and organization of USPS presort mailings of First Class Letters/Flats, Marketing Mail Letters/Flats for Permit Imprint, and Metered mail.Controlling machines and processesMonitor processes, materials, or surroundings.Maintains workflow and ensures availability of materials, tools, and necessary equipment for assemblyInspecting equipment, structures, or materialMonitors safety practicesInteracts with other departments in production to resolve problems that interfere with the group’s productivityTrains new and less experienced operatorsCompletes required daily maintenance paperworkMaintains equipment in good working order and maintains a clean work areaReports machine and equipment malfunction to supervisor or mechanicsReports replacement parts; assist in periodical equipment checks to ensure maintenance of the machineResponsible for maintaining the quality and productivityAdhere to the company’s Quality Policy Statement and participate in the Quality Management SystemLifting up to 40lbsRequired to stand long periodsOther projects, duties, and/or tasks as assigned by management
