Mailroom Assistant
Description We are recruiting a Mailroom Assistant to join our team in the Plastics Manufacturing industry, located in Janesville, Wisconsin. The successful candidate will be part of our Customer Service (Shipping) team, handling various tasks related to mail processing and distribution, along with maintaining quality customer service. Responsibilities: • Efficiently manage the processing and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and other shipments • Maintain knowledge of mail processes and basic computer operations • Open, sort, and stamp incoming mail, ensuring mail is sorted according to destination type • Manage outgoing mail, including its appearance and sealing • Address undeliverable mail with incomplete or incorrect addresses • Operate postage machines and determine accurate postage for packages • Ensure the safety and security procedures are adhered to at all times • Handle the control of inbound and outbound accountable • Perform data entry to record activity and maintain records • Occasionally, fold letters or circulars and insert them into envelopes • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Manager Requirements • Must have proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the plastics manufacturing industry. • Proficiency in certified mail handling is required. • Demonstrable experience with bulk mailings is necessary. • Must be able to efficiently deliver mail throughout the organization. • Familiarity with department mail organization and handling is important. • Experience with direct mail pieces is a plus. • Must be able to manage mail packages, both incoming and outgoing. • Knowledge of mail processing procedures is crucial. • Previous work in a mailroom environment is highly desirable. • Ability to handle outgoing mail packages promptly and efficiently is required. • Must be able to process mail quickly and accurately. • Data entry skills are required, ensuring accurate record keeping of all mail transactions. • Excellent customer service skills are necessary to interact with staff and address any mail-related queries.
