Our client, a nonprofit located in Boston, MA, is seeking a Mailroom Associate to manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages, ensuring efficient processing and delivery across the organization. This position plays a vital role in supporting the trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care model by ensuring that all mail is handled with care and confidentiality. The Mailroom Associate will work closely with guests and staff while maintaining a well-organized and effective mailroom. This is a full time, onsite position with the hours of 7am to 3pm. Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle all incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring it is processed, sorted, and delivered appropriately.Sort and distribute mail to designated areas (staff, guest, residential mail).Scan guest ID cards into HMIS software for mail pick-up tracking.Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient mailroom.Label and manage old mail, ensuring timely return to sender or proper destruction.Communicate with various departments to ensure urgent mail is delivered promptly.Maintain mail logs, including government checks and package lists.Provide hospitality and support to guests, referring them to appropriate service departments.Perform light housekeeping and other duties as required to maintain mailroom operations.Skills and Abilities:
Strong enthusiasm for working with vulnerable populations, especially those facing housing, income, and behavioral health challenges.Ability to manage high-speed, high-stress environments and stay organized under pressure.Proficiency in using computer systems and guest database software.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.Ability to lift to 30 pounds.Comfortable working in a small sorting and distribution space for extended periods.Commitment to trauma-informed and person-centered care principles.A1402777EC_1736350375 To Apply for this Job Click Here
