As a Mainframe Application Modernization SME at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions. Your work will play a critical role in our business offering, your code will deliver value to our customers faster than ever before, and your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be critical in ensuring the success of our products.
Using design documentation and functional programming specifications, you will be responsible for implementing identified components. You will ensure that implemented components are appropriately documented, unit-tested, and ready for integration into the final product. You will have the opportunity to architect the solution, test the code, and deploy and build a CI/CD pipeline for it.
As a valued member of our team, you will provide work estimates for assigned development work, and guide features, functional objectives, or technologies being built for interested parties. Required Technical and Professional Experience
Over 10 years of mainframe experience.Must have expertise in Mainframe/COBOL/Batch and either CICS or IMS, with experience in the other.Strong skills in Mainframe Batch COBOL, JCL, DB2/IMS DB/IDMS, and good exposure to either CICS or IMS online systems.Experience in one of the scripting languages: REXX/CLIST, Python, ZOWE CLI.Experience in migrating COBOL applications or performing COBOL version upgrades.Familiarity with BMC and/or Broadcom IBM Z suites.Experience with both host-based and workstation-based application development tooling.Proficient in production and test problem determination and debugging.Exposure to Zowe as open-source zOS tools, IBM DevOps, or BMC AMI DevOps.Exposure to Unix on zOS or Linux.Modernization experience with rehost or refactor tools.Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience in enterprise application development in CICS/IMS and batch in COBOL.Experience in financial services application development is required; experience in healthcare, retail, logistics, travel, and transport is a plus.Experience in PL/I and/or C application programming is a plus.Experience in Java and/or WebSphere Application Server development on IBM Z is a plus.Familiarity with tools such as zOS Connect, Adaptigent/OpenLegacy on zOS is an advantage.Experience with IBM MQ Series is a plus.Experience with integrating IBM Z with Azure, AWS, or Google is a plus.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and work effectively through change.Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $107,400 to $204,000 based on a full-time schedule.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California: $118,200 to $244,920
Colorado: $107,400 to $204,000
New York City: $128,880 to $244,920
Washington: $118,200 to $224,520
Washington DC: $118,200 to $224,520
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
