Description:
Application Developer will analyze CICS and Batch COBOL applications and conduct impact analysis, development and delivery for system changes utilizing Source Code Analysis Tools. Candidate must understand the entire system development lifecycle process.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide estimates,
- Create Requirements Analysis and Design (RAD) documents,
- Code and unit test in a Windows client/server and/or .NET environment,
- Support quality assurance activities, and support implementation and software deployment activities.
- The candidate must be comfortable with working either onsite or in a remote team environment.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years overall application development experience in distributed client/server systems environments.
- 5+ years experience in Micro Focus COBOL, must have SQL experience and a thorough understanding of relational databases (preferably SQL Server) from an application development perspective.
- Must understand and be able to modify, design, develop, test, and implement alternative methods (e.g., data access objects, stored procedures, and embedded or dynamic SQL) of interaction between business application software and underlying databases.
- Must be capable of and have substantial experience working with the Visual Studio integrated development environment for developing, testing and troubleshooting COBOL applications.
- Be proficient with Source Code Management System (SCMS) tools, like Team Foundation server, Visual Sources Safe, ChangeMan, etc…
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work directly with client business personnel to gather and clarify requirements and communicate matters of significant importance.
- Must have significant experience in every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle and be able to document requirements, perform analysis, provide design, perform coding, perform unit testing, perform implementation, provide post-production application support, and perform project/task estimation.
Possess a working knowledge of any of the following tools/technologies:
- Revolve™
- Relativity™
- Micro Focus Modernization Workbench™ or other source code analysis tools.
Possess a working knowledge of several of the following tools/technologies would be beneficial:
- MQ,
- Citrix,
- MQSI,
- MS Access,
- service-oriented architecture,
- WCF,
- Crystal Reports
- Knowledge of warehousing, supply chain management, inventory management.
Experience with one or more of the following languages:
- C,
- .Net,
- C#, etc
