**Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe z/OS System Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with mainframe system internals, including z/OS, JES, TSO/ISPF, and USS. You will be responsible for configuring mainframes, supporting third-party vendor software, and providing technical expertise to resolve complex system issues. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can make a significant impact on our IT infrastructure.

_Rate: $65 - $73 / hr. w2_
**Responsibilities:**
+ Design, implement, integrate, and support complex software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment.
+ Research and recommend system software to meet corporate standards and performance objectives.
+ Identify and solve complex systems-related issues.
+ Provide input on platform selection, version implementation, and software product recommendations.
+ Assist with complex issues in the installation, support, troubleshooting, and repair of data center equipment.
+ Communicate with internal and external system users to address concerns and resolve technical issues.
+ Manage ticket queues and handle complex escalated issues.
+ Analyze repeat incident patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancements.
+ Work with vendors to ensure efficient incident resolution.
**Experience Requirements:**
+ Eight to ten (8-10) years of related infrastructure experience required.
+ In-depth knowledge of z/OS, JES, TSO/ISPF, USS
+ Mainframe hardware configuration
+ HMA and HCD for IO gens
+ SMP/E and zOSMF for software installation and configuration
+ Programming knowledge in Assembler and REXX (preferred)
+ Strong debugging skills
+ Experience with third-party vendor software support
+ Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
**Education Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
_Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range._
