Position Description:
Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety protective equipment and ISO 14001 EMS guidelines.Perform detailed machine maintenance.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.Day to day coverage of production equipment - respond to breakdowns, and production requests, quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.Completing mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities to identify and correct mechanical or electrical defects before they fail.Create and close work orders into SAP CMMS with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.Work a 3-2-2 shift. Overtime and occasional off-shift work may be required.Read blueprints, technical and mechanical drawings, Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) and schematics.Use light rigging, such as chain falls, chokers, slings, nylon belts, monorails, eyebolts, shackles, and beam clampsPerform tasks such as lifting, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling.Maintain housekeeping in shop / maintenance support areas and on the production floor.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: AAS degree in a maintenance related field or equivalent military training, with 3+ years’ experience is desired. Combination of experience/training will be considered.
NCDOL Journeyman Apprentice Maintenance Level I and Level II or equivalent

What We Are Looking For:
2 - 5 years or more experience industrial or manufacturing electro-mechanical maintenance, or equivalent military background.Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and electrical/mechanical equipment.Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.Excellent references and attendance record is a must.Ability to troubleshoot / repair industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.Knowledge and Ability to use standard measurement tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.Ability to read and interpret equipment tech manuals, schematics and blueprints.Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner.What Will Put You Ahead:
Licensed Industrial TradesmanNCDOL Journeyman Apprentice – Trade Skills ProgramPrevious maintenance experience in a Fiber Optics Cabling organization.Experience programming PLCs.Experience working with 24v, 120v, 240v and 480/3-phase electrical knowledge.Experience with MIG, TIG, Arc welding.Experience with a manual lathe and milling machine.Multi-craft capabilities such as: welding, pipe fitting, precision millwright, and lubrication/filtration.
