Cleans apartments prior to occupancy by new tenants, mop, sweeps, strips, and waxes floors, disassembles, cleans and reassembles appliances, washes windows, cabinets, walls and woodwork.
Performs minor maintenance tasks, sprays for pest control, picks up paper and trash from around buildings, cleans and secures office and other project buildings, checks and secures vacant apartments, checks playground equipment, delivers mail and messages to tenants. Cleans, repairs, and maintains fence rows.
Performs minor maintenance tasks such as replacing washers, unstopping sinks, tubs, and commodes, repairing commodes and drain pipes, replacing ceiling or wall sockets, light switches and bad circuit breakers, replacing broken window panes and screens, door knows and door stops, minor repairs on heaters, refrigerators, etc.
Performs cleaning, patching and preparing walls and wood surfaces for painting, moves, covers and replaces furniture and appliances when painting, paints exterior and interior walls, doors, trim, etc.
Work Experience
Knowledge of the operating characteristics of assigned equipment.
Knowledge of the work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with assigned equipment.
Considerable knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and methods commonly employed in the custodial care and cleaning of buildings, facilities and equipment.
Knowledge of grounds care and maintenance.
Knowledge in basic computer skills.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, tenants and the general public.
Willingness to perform heavy manual work for an extended period of time under varying climate conditions.
