Annual Wage Range: $110,400.00 - $151,800.00

Job Description
We are hiring a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at our East Chicago, IN site reporting directly to the Plant Manager on a M-F day schedule. This role will provide leadership responsibilities for all maintenance and engineering activities including all aspects of tactical and strategic initiatives for EHS performance, maintenance and reliability programs, capital project execution, cost, customer satisfaction, employee/team development, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and continuous improvement.
The East Chicago plant, a historic site in operation since 1892, manufactures Sodium Silicate and LUDOX® Colloidal Silica, serving diverse industries worldwide. With a dedicated union workforce of about 50 employees, the plant ensures high-quality production and global distribution.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement maintenance and engineering plans, including strategy, goals, metrics, and annual objectives. Manage and ensure the realization of the annual maintenance plan, including cost control. Oversee maintenance work processes and systems. Participate in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Direct capital and project efforts in a manufacturing environment. Collaborate with corporate resources to manage capital and expense projects, supporting the engineering team. Ensure safe, timely, and efficient operation of all production equipment and assets. Interface with Departmental Managers and Supervisors to maintain functional and safe plant equipment. Provide strategic direction for equipment installation and modification. Promote a continuous improvement culture, including Six Sigma and Lean tools. Physical Requirements and Environment Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, chemical engineering preferred 5+ years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience 2+ years in a leadership role Preferred Qualifications
