**Full-time Days/On-call Shift Available!**
**As a Maintenance Associate (handyman) with REM Community Services, you will assist with maintaining** nine 8-bed ICF/ID properties/services, seven HCBS sites and a day program in the Cedar Rapids/Coralville Corridor and Williamsburg.
Ensure that all grounds and equipment are in good working order to ensure a safe, attractive and enjoyable living and working environment for the individuals we serve. **Job Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee ongoing preventative maintenance of residential programs (including but not limited to: repair and maintain interior and exterior of the homes and grounds, kitchen and laundry appliances, other mechanical equipment, heating and air conditioning units, electrical and plumbing fixtures, and painting, etc.). Programs are located in the Cedar Rapids area, North Liberty, Coralville and Williamsburg.
+ Plan and schedule work assignments to accomplish workload with available resources and equipment. Coordinate with outside contractors to ensure quality of work delivered. Analyze and resolve complaints pertaining to services, and equipment in area of responsibility.
+ Work with building inspectors, fire marshal, and vendors to ensure locations are up to licensing, safety and company standards. In facility based locations, maintain fire alarm system, including smoke and heat detectors, and fire pull through coordination of applicable vendors. Assist with safety and disaster plans as appropriate.
+ Maintain maintenance responsibilities with other maintenance staff.
+ Participate in an on-call rotation to cover emergent needs after hours and/or on weekends.
+ Perform other related duties and activities as requested.
**What we require of you:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ Working knowledge and ability to handle a range of maintenance needs, tools, and equipment
+ One year related work experience preferred
+ Valid Iowa Driver's License
+ Proof of insurance
+ Willingness to travel between sites as needed
+ Must be self-directed, able to work independently, and must be dependable and punctual.
+ Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
