Maintenance Mechanic I| Hiring Immediately | Hazleton, PA

 

Shift/Schedule: 12HR night shift 6:30pm-6:30am

Alternating 36 hour / 48 hour work weeks

Week 1: 36 hrs

Week 2: 48 hrs

Week 3: 36 hrs

Week 4: 48 hrs

 

Compensation:

Responsibilities

Key Job Requirements:

Diagnose and repair faulty production and related plant equipment with the minimum amount of supervision using the provided schematics, manuals and drawings. Be able to diagnose and repair electro-mechanical problems, troubleshoot electrical problems and have a strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategiesIdentify faulty parts and provide proper nomenclature in the form of a requisition in order that spares or replacements can be orderedBe knowledgeable of what and where spare parts are in the storerooms and to observe store rooms withdrawal and return procedureGeneral working knowledge of machine shop equipmentMust be team-oriented with leadership qualities and capable of leading co-workers in assigned tasksWill be expected to maintain necessary records and established maintenance proceduresMaintain a clean, safe working environmentResponsible for additional specific duties related to each shift as assigned by maintenance supervisorOther duties as necessary

Technical Competencies:

Administrative: Demonstrates ability to accurately post data from one source to another in ERP or peripheral software systems.

Technical Knowledge: Demonstrates an advanced comprehensive knowledge of entire process from concept to commercialization.

 

Operate Equipment:

Ability to operate motorized equipment and other peripheral equipment safely and efficiently as requiredDemonstrates ability to utilize standard hand toolsAbility to operate basic machine shop equipment

Maintenance/Repair:

Demonstrates advanced mechanical aptitude and abilitiesDemonstrates thorough knowledge of production technological methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment in manufacturing facilities Qualifications

Education & Experience: 

Three to five years of experience in a related fieldMechanical pretest to employmentHigh school diploma/equivalent requiredCompletion of a vocational or trade school curriculum from an authorized school with a concentration in electro-mechanical courses desiredMust be able to read and use precision type instruments such as micrometers and calipersSpeaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetingsMust be able to pass multi-choice with handwritten section test

ADA – Essential Functions: 

Must be able to:

Work a 8, 10 and/or 12-hour shift, standing and walking for extended periodsClimb Heed safety warnings, devices and alarms     Communicate effectively both verbally and in writingLift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.Possess an adequate ability to do problem solving and establish cause and effect relationships in an office and/or manufacturing environment.
