PRIMARY FUNCTION 

Maintenance Carpenter is responsible for carpentry and building material related repairs, installation, and assembly. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Repair and build structures and building envelope. 

Roofing assessment and repair. 

Drywall installation and repair. 

Remodeling. 

Carpet and flooring installation. 

Woodworking. 

Commercial door, window and framework repair, replacement, and installation. 

Assemble and erect metal studs.  

Install and repair all building materials. 

Cutting and fabricating of materials. 

Fastening of materials and parts 

Concrete and Masonry repair and installation 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities and the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES 

Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other structures. 

Possess good housekeeping skills with attention to detail on environmental hazards to reduce personal exposure and potential spreading of hazardous contaminants. 

Strong knowledge and execution of proper use of hand tools and other small equipment. 

Ability to observe safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly. 

Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. 

Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. 

Ability to work in a team environment. 

Plans and lays out work using blueprints, work orders and shop drawings 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

High School Diploma or equivalent 

5 years previous experience in commercial carpentry at journeyman level. 

Valid drivers’ license  

Must be able to pass a drug test, and have, or be able to obtain, a DoD National Agency Check Investigation (NACI) Interim Secret Security Clearance within 90 days from date of hire. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

4 year apprenticeship or equivalent  

Substantial commercial door and window experience 

Substantial concrete and masonry repair experience
