About the role The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for maintaining the parts inventory of the maintenance shop. This role will interact with internal and external customers. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Responsibilities Inventory existing parts stock and tag with part numbers. Assign Berk-Tek part numbers and determine valid inventory. Assist in setting up the stockroom with racks, bin control system, and part location assignment. Assist in developing and maintaining a stock control program. Complete SAP transitions for parts inventory leaving the stockroom area. Work with equipment manufacturers and vendors to ascertain parts availability. Locate alternative sources for inventory whenever possible. Submit parts orders in SAP for approval by the maintenance manager and purchasing. Verify received material is accurate to what was ordered. Expedite the delivery of backordered parts and material. Travel locally for pick-up/delivery of parts and other items required. Perform data entry tasks in support of the maintenance department. Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in written format Ability to use common computer programs such as MS Word and Excel (or ability to learn within one month of entering position). Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility Willingness to learn new tasks and processes Ability to communicate and interact with support personnel from production departments, engineering, and/or quality to support customer needs.
