Responsibilities:

The position is responsible and accountable for leadership and management of the maintenance scheduling, storeroom management and purchasing functions. This position will plan, implement and follow-up on best practices in stores and purchasing.  The position will interface with the Site Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Team, Production teams in Corrugating, Converting and Shipping, Customer Service Team, and Finance.  This role works with Finance and International Paper’s Global Sourcing groups to develop and implement contractor/supplier agreements. It will require significant communication with contractors and vendors, driving the need to develop and maintain good vendor relationships. The Maintenance Coordinator must demonstrate a clear and absolute dedication to adherence to the International Paper business code of ethics and conduct as well as the Financial Policy.

 

This role will create, modify and close routine and safety work orders as well as Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders.  The Maintenance Coordinator will organize and schedule daily maintenance work with the maintenance crews as well as outage work.  This role will receive direction from Maintenance & Manufacturing supervision and will execute delivery of parts, service (internal and contractor) and plans to ensure plant assets are maintained at a high level to ensure continuous operations.

 

The role is also responsible for daily purchasing activities including parts research, ordering and expediting, for overseeing and implementing computerized storeroom management, as well as inventory management and control. The Maintenance Coordinator will have ongoing interaction with the plant maintenance department and operating employees and will conduct physical storeroom inventory counts on a routine basis (aka cycle counts).  The role will maintain ethical relationships with suppliers while holding them accountable to the plant’s needs.  A critical aspect is to investigate and analyze new sources of supply to manage plant costs as well as identify and coordinate the removal of obsolete parts and equipment.  Compliance with environmental and safety policies is a requirement and this role plays a part in executing improvements in these areas.  The Maintenance Coordinator must also meet established budgets and inventory levels. 

 

The Job You Will Perform:

Coordinate the purchasing and receiving of spare parts Must abide by all corporate purchasing policies and procedures and government regulations Resolve invoice blocks/invoicing issues Assist the finance department to manage and control costs Create and maintain repair and inspection reports Generate tracking/closing of work orders. Procurement of manufacturing parts and supplies and daily storeroom activities. Perform daily storeroom activities including parts ordering, expediting, receiving, inspecting, cataloging, stocking, issuing, and inventory control.  Responsible for computerized storeroom management; comparing inventories to record management system or computing figures from records such as purchase invoices to obtain current inventory. Investigate and analyze new sources of supply and comply with environmental regulations such as chemical purchases, while maintaining good vendor relationships.  Meet established budgets and inventory levels.  Stocks and issues materials or merchandise. Plan, implement and follow-up on best practices in stores and purchasing. Manage vendor/contractor ISN compliance Other duties as required

 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:

High school diploma or GED required Strong computer systems capability required SAP experience highly preferred Technical (engineering, math, science) and/or Finance-related background preferred Experience in high-speed manufacturing preferred; Corrugated industry experience helpful Strong internal drive to operate using systems and organization Strong attention to detail needed to ensure the storeroom inventory and kitting is accurate Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Self-driven and able to work with minimal direction Strong drive to control costs and eliminate overspending Experience in purchasing, procurement and stores methodology preferred Experience in contract implementation helpful Solid written and verbal communication skills; effective listening skills
