This position will be located at our Southwest Regional Office located in Nampa, Idaho. This position is an 8-month benefited temporary position and will work forty (40) hours a week. Work schedules may include weekends and holidays. The work schedule is flexible but generally, this position will work four 10-hour days (Tuesday-Friday); typically, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position is involved in all aspects of inside and outside heavy constructions and building trades type work. Some overnight and day travel within the McCall subregion will be required. This position also involves, with or without reasonable accommodations, physical activities associated with construction work such as lifting and carrying items weighing approximately 80 pounds, bending, and stooping, and working at heights of up to approximately 50 feet. Responsibilities: + This position will involve strong project coordination and all aspects of project management and coordination. Such duties include fishing and boating access site maintenance/developments, campground improvements, facility needs, restroom contract standard, and other project management/coordination work as assigned. + This work involves large amounts of collaborative coordination with multiple agencies, contractors, and volunteer groups. + Assist and coordinate volunteer groups and/or Supervised Inmate Labor Detail (SILD) where appropriate. + Operate equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, excavator, dozer, dump truck, tractor/trailer transport, forklift, roller, and road graders. + Operate tools and equipment such as pressure washers, lawnmowers, and weed eaters. + Perform light maintenance (painting, dock repair, small engines). + Cleaning/restocking restrooms and removing trash. + Document site use, needed repairs, replacing, and installing signage. + Maintain and repair plumbing fixtures, welding and fabrication, wood working, structural projects, irrigation systems and pump stations, pipes, sinks, lavatories, septic tanks and electrical wiring, lights, ballasts, switches, receptacles. + Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: (These qualifications are required.) + Good knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance. (Typically gained by through completion of formal training (such as in a vocational technical school) covering all the following skills; OR at least two (2) years of professional work experience performing all the following: skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance repair; using and maintaining tools and equipment normally associated with carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical work.) + Some knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems maintenance. (Typically gained by formal training/education specific to HVAC systems; OR approximately six months of (supervised) professional work experience performing routine HVAC maintenance. Performing limited HVAC maintenance on an occasional basis or home maintenance is not qualifying.) Your experience must have been gained in a professional work capacity and must have been a primary responsibility of your job.) + Some knowledge of building codes. (Typically gained by completion of formal training, such as in a vocational technical school; OR two years of experience. Include in your response your experience/training, the type of building codes and how used.) + Experience reading blueprints and schematics. (Typically gained by completion of formal training, such as in a vocational technical school; OR at least two years of experience.) This position requires the following: + Experience performing skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical and building maintenance repair. + Experience using and maintaining tools and equipment normally associated with carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical work. Minimum Qualification Specialty: (Required for the current opening) + Valid driver’s license In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will bewilling to attain an Idaho state herbicide applicators license (law and safety portion) within the first four months and attain the appropriate endorsements to do both land and aquatic applications at sites. Additional consideration may be given at the time of interview to candidates who possess a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a combination vehicle air brake endorsement.
