What you will be doing

Reports to the Director of Aviation.  Responsible for ensuring that all aircraft are in an airworthy condition that meets or exceeds all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s), aircraft maintenance manuals, and Company policies.

The position will be based in Boise, ID.

Main responsibilities

Screen, interview, and where applicable, test applicants for specific job openings. Assess applicant's ability to meet the needs of the position and make hiring recommendations.  Administer all supervisory activities for maintenance technicians and line personnel including performance appraisals, counseling, development, disciplinary action, and safety / security coverage.  Coordinate daily aircraft maintenance activities with Technicians to ensure adequate continuity among Maintenance, Operations, and Scheduling.  Perform routine inspections and spot checks of Company aircraft, support equipment, and aircraft records to ensure compliance and safety.  Develop the Aircraft Maintenance operation capital and expense budget. Monitor purchasing requirements to ensure fiscal responsibility. This includes negotiating with aircraft manufacturers and suppliers to ensure maximum fleet operator discounts and on-call service for aircraft spares and supplies.  Serve as a Technician when required.  Ensure aircraft technical publications and test equipment certifications are updated accurately.  Plan recurrent technical training and personal development of the maintenance staff.  Assure there is a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, on-call status to respond to aircraft maintenance issues as applicable.  Ensure calibration of test equipment.  Ensure that products, parts, supplies, and consumables meet the specifications and requirements set forth by the manufacturer.  Monitor expiration dates for first aid kits, automatic external defibrillators, and any applicable survival / emergency equipment.  For Flight Crew reference, review and update emergency and survival equipment list on an annual basis and/or as equipment and contents change.  Manage the training program and maintain training records for maintenance personnel.  Assume additional duties as delegated by the Director of Aviation.

What we are searching for

At least 5 years of maintenance management experience in business aviation.  At least 10 years of experience as a licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician.  A&P Certificate with no violations.  Inspection Authority (IA) (highly desirable).  Knowledge of the planning, implementation and direction of the maintenance programs and control system for the aircraft operated.  Knowledge of the CFRs and standards relating to aircraft maintenance.  Undergraduate degree (highly desirable).
