Maintenance Electrician

**Pay rate is $53.00 per hour.  (The hiring rate of $53.00 includes a $4.00 Drive / PLC technology qualification adder.  New electricians will receive this full rate immediately upon hire and will receive company-sponsored onsite classroom, simulator, and field training on AC/DC Drive, PLC, and HMI installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.  The training program has a target completion of 12 months from DOH.  Upon completion of training, electricians will have 18 months to complete 100 hours of designated on-the-job Drive / PLC field work followed by an in house Drive / PLC / HMI evaluation by demonstrating knowledge and skill proficiency to training program coordinator.  If evaluation is not successfully completed within 18 months from completion of training, the $4.00 adder may be suspended until such time full certification is achieved.)

Shift differential: $2.00 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shift.   

 

Some Duties/Responsibilities:

Ability to work safely and comply with all Federal, State, Local and WestRock laws, regulations, and practices.Troubleshoot, install, integrate, repair, and/or replace all electrical equipment and components, including all motors, VFD’s, switches and control components with an operating voltage of 50 volts or more.Analyze equipment histories to reduce variability, improve quality, reduce cost and/or enhance reliability. Leading edge preventive maintenance.Responsible for software on modern distributive control systems.Maintain current infrastructure.Must coordinate and collaborate with other employees, crafts, and contractors.Complete other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Must possess a current and be in good standing MN Class A Journeyman Electrician license or Maintenance Electrician license per the MN Department of Labor and Industry.Must maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all National Electric Code, medium voltage, synchronous motors and controls, Allen Bradley DC drives & PLC Systems (willing to train the right candidate), and all laws governing his/her work.Must join/be a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers – Local 110 and meet/sustain requirements of the current appliable Collective Bargaining Agreement.Must pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.  Must have high school diploma or GED and must demonstrate the willingness to continue to upgrade educational experience.Must be able to work in the United States and have acceptable I-9 documentation.  Experience in heavy industrial Electric Maintenance or equivalent desired.

“Pitman Swing”:
