Maintenance Electrician
**Job Title: Maintenance Electrician** **Job Description** We are seeking an Industrial Electrician with the skills and knowledge to effectively troubleshoot and repair varied equipment and systems. Strong root cause analysis skills are required to eliminate recurring failures. **Responsibilities** + Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, 3 phase power distribution, and industrial machine controls with or without a schematic. + Wire transformers, drives, motors, and other industrial electrical equipment. + Interpret PLC ladder logic and troubleshoot electrical control systems including PLC, robotics, servos, drives, and touch-screens using a laptop. + Basic knowledge of facility building utility systems (boilers, chillers, air compressors, etc.). + Maintain required records, including maintenance work orders, PLC program documentation, and electrical drawings. + Perform new equipment electrical installation and upgrades. + Assist in training other technicians and maintenance staff. + Respond to plant emergencies. + Follow company standards and safety regulations, identifying unsafe conditions and making corrections when appropriate. **Essential Skills** + 3-5 years’ experience in industrial electrical controls or educational equivalent. + Ability to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour day including climbing ladders or steps. + Meet vision and hearing requirements. + Pass written and practical electrical tests. + Electrical Arc Flash Safety and Lock Out Tag Out training. + Experience in preventative maintenance of controls and electrical equipment including 3 phase electrical systems. + Working knowledge of National Electric Code and ability to reference the code when required. + Ability to fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes. + Ability to read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics. + Ability to operate power shop tools as well as common hand tools. + Basic mechanical skills. + Ability to work at heights when operating a scissor lift. + Solid PC computing skills. + Ability to take initiative and engage in continued growth and development to learn new technologies. + Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law. + Ability to effectively perform formal root cause analysis (RCA). + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Must be able to read and interpret schematics. + Experience with PLC ladder logic, GE, Allen Bradley, or Siemens controls is a plus but not mandatory. + Ability to develop continuous improvement plans and recommendations for better, more efficient, and less costly methods to complete jobs. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a feedback-enriched culture with a lot of room for upward mobility as the company is increasing its staff. Shifts available include 1st shift (6:45-3:30), 2nd shift (2:45-11:15), and 3rd shift (10:45-7:15). **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Oxford, North Carolina. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $40.00/hr.
