MAINTENANCE ENGINEER 2nd shift – BAYFRONT - COLUMBUS (HAYWARD, CA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the execution of all maintenance activities associated with assigned plant physical assets (buildings, grounds, utility infrastructure, process, and packaging equipment) so that the lifetime value of the Company's investment in these assets is optimized Responsible for the technical development of all assigned staff. The incumbent participates in the recruitment, selection, coaching, evaluation, and development of all assigned maintenance personnel. Manage a team of maintenance technicians who perform the necessary repair and maintenance activities to achieve optimal equipment reliability at the minimum cost. Assign work to various maintenance personnel based upon priorities established. Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently. Ensure all required maintenance processes and procedures are followed (i.e., storeroom parts sign out, shift handover, daily rounds, critical systems log etc.). Utilize the company’s Enterprise Asset Management System and support its use as a key management information tool. This includes creating & assigning work orders and PM tasks, requisitions for parts & services and spare parts inventory management. Ensure team members are also utilizing this system for all assigned work (entering task information, parts used, booked hours etc.). Execute capital and expense projects as required. Prepare budgets and implementation plans for maintenance, repair, capital, and reliability improvement expenditures. Utilize internal and external resources as necessary. Partner with plant leadership on startup and implementation. The incumbent works closely with the Manager of Plant Engineering as well as the Plant Manager and other plant personnel to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, statues, codes, and regulations as well as internal Company policies. Applies technical / engineering analysis and judgement to identify opportunities for improving plant operations. The Maintenance Manager will formulate recommendations and implement changes that drive continuous improvement.QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 3 years of Maintenance Engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, or a related field. Innovative, have good technical and mechanical knowledge, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.LOCATION: Columbus Craft Meats- Hayward, CA

Additional opportunities may exist in different departments, facilities, or subsidiaries Hormel Foods' "promote-from-within" philosophy rewards outstanding performanceThe base pay range is $83,000 to $110,000 per year and this position qualifies for a cost-of-living premium in addition to the base salary compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills set, level of experience, and specific office location.
