Maintenance Engineer

Ecolab is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at the Ecolab St. Paul Campus located in St. Paul, MN. You will be responsible for supporting and performing tasks to achieve efficient campus building maintenance and operations.  You are also responsible for excellent safety performance along with continuous improvement, both individually and organizationally.  The work will be done via projects and work orders (demand and preventative maintenance).

What You'll Do:

Maintain all equipment as required by the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program, ensuring adequate tasks, frequencies, and standard operating procedures (SOP) are achieved and continuously updatedOperate, maintain, and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, etc. used to control facility temperaturesOperate, maintain, repair, program, and troubleshoot the building automation system (BAS) that runs the mechanical systems that support all cooling and heatingMaintain and repair ice machines, refrigeration equipment, freezers, and microwavesOperate, maintain, and repair instrument air compressorsOperate, maintain, and repair water filters, softeners, piping, pumps, and distribution systemsOperate, maintain, and repair all types of electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, and fansOperate, maintain, and repair sanitary sewer systems, including sump pumps, basins, water closets, urinals, sinks, and pipingMaintain electrical power distribution and auxiliary equipment for lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control componentsOperate and maintain the various life safety and security systemsPass all required safety training, follow all required safe work practices, and achieve all OSHA and Ecolab regulatory requirements. Examples include Lock Out/Tag Out, Hot Work Permit, Confined Space Entry, and Personal Protective Equipment.Provide excellent customer service (typically internal Ecolab customers) with a positive, “can do” attitude

Position Details:

Work location: Ecolab Global Headquarters (St. Paul, MN)This position has a work schedule of 7 AM – 3:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday AND includes an on-call rotation (weekly, including weekends, every 5-7 weeks).

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent3 years experience in building maintenance and operation (or equivalent residential experience)Schematic (civil, electrical, piping, etc.) reading proficiency Familiar with use of a Maintenance Work Order SystemAbility to be on-call on a rotating basis for emergency calls (weekly, including nights and weekends, every 5-7 weeks)No immigration sponsorship available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

5 years experience in building maintenance and operation (or equivalent residential experience)Mechanical aptitude, including understanding engineering specificationsCertified/Accredited trade school certificate in industry related tradeJohnson-Controls Building Automation System experienceEffective communication skills, both written and verbalBasic math skillsBasic computer operation, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Explorer, Word, and Excel)Ability to be self-directed and make decisions as required
