We’re hiring a Maintenance Engineer for our Chattanooga, TN manufacturing site. Relocation assistance available.
At this site we produce FCC intermediate Rare Earth products; FCC additives; Raney® metal catalysts in granular, activated slurry and activated granular forms; several forms of solid support activators; and several other low volume specialty products. As a Maintenance Engineer you will be a member of the Maintenance and Engineering team. You will be responsible for maintaining all plant equipment in a manner that allows production to maximize its usage, through effective preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, including automated vibration monitoring, thermal imaging, and lubrication analysis. There may be occasional overtime (nights, weekend) required to address ad-hoc issues.
Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working in a chemical processing plant Ability to work effectively within a team environment (leading and participating) Ability to analyze data and translate into making decisions and executing solutions. Proficient in an ERP, SAP highly preferred
