**Maintenance Technician| Contract to Hire**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our steel manufacturing processes. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively with operators and other employees.
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair and maintain equipment including levelers, CTL Lines, shears, and other steel manufacturing machinery.
+ Follow a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
+ Manage work orders through a computerized system.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
+ Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
+ Serve as the sole maintenance technician at the facility, collaborating with operators and other employees.
+ Repair scissor lifts and perform basic facilities maintenance tasks (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, changing light bulbs).
**Qualifications**
+ At least 4-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
+ Experience troubleshooting PLCs.
+ Proficiency in hydraulics and pneumatics.
+ Experience with 480v and 3-phase electrical systems.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Basic computer skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in steel manufacturing.
+ Experience repairing forklifts or cranes.
+ Familiarity with CMMS systems or PM scheduling systems.

**Work Environment**
This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position, with 1st and 2nd shifts available (10am-6pm, Monday to Thursday, with 8 hours of overtime on Friday). The total workweek is 48 hours, and candidates must be open to working weekends for emergency breakdowns. The facility is an older building with large steel coils, and temperatures can vary with the seasons. Safety is a priority, and the work involves managing heavy steel bundles.
