Maintenance Engineer
A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Clinton, CT is seeking a talented Maintenance Engineer to join their team!

Job Description

The Maintenance Engineer will work closely with the maintenance manager to improve operational efficiency. This role involves handling escalated maintenance issues, addressing production line problems, managing rebuilds, and performing downtime analysis.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze the performance of existing equipment through time studies, downtime analysis, and uptime statistics to improve output and reduce scrap.Work with maintenance staff to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to limit downtime and unnecessary repairs.Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Oversee maintenance manuals, repair history, change history, and schematics.Recommend process and equipment upgrades, modifications, and replacements where necessary.Coordinate continuous improvement of key production areas to streamline processes and improve capability.Serve as the escalation point for the maintenance team during major breakdowns.Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs).Recommend predictive or other preferred maintenance programs.Write and perform qualifications and validations for various production equipment.Write and execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) on manufacturing equipment.Assist in the research, design, and procurement of production equipment.Provide layouts for equipment installation and oversee the installation process.Work with the maintenance manager to develop and implement systems for operator training, operator qualification, preventive maintenance, spare parts control, reordering of parts, and sourcing of parts.Monitor and follow through on changes to ensure return on investment (ROI) is achieved.Other related responsibilities as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing engineering.Knowledge of general manufacturing plant systems.Computer literate with spreadsheet, databases, and CAD.Strong mechanical aptitude.Good problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and a functional level.Ability to organize and manage projects.Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other plant personnel.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in production, manufacturing engineering, process improvement, preventive maintenance, mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, and operational analysis.3+ years' experience managing preventive maintenance and recommending changes.3+ years' experience analyzing downtime data and recommending changes.Mechanical subject matter expert.Ability to read blueprints and meet with vendors.Experience in process engineering, troubleshooting, lean manufacturing, medical device, pharmaceutical, and predictive maintenance.Pharma/Bio/Med Device experience is a plus.Work Environment

The role involves working mainly in a high-volume facility with six production lines, but it also requires presence in two additional locations. The work environment is characterized by steady business and growth, providing a solid and stable company setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $165000.00
