Job Description
The maintenance engineering group will work on initiatives to ensure equipment on production lines are running efficiently, as well as laying out programs for preventive maintenance schedules and projects. This role involves close collaboration with both mechanical and electrical maintenance teams and will assist with issues that escalate to an engineering level. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring equipment in assigned areas operates effectively and efficiently. The role may require the design of equipment tooling such as jigs and fixtures as needed. Additionally, the Maintenance Engineer writes manufacturing and work instructions and manages projects on the line for upgrades, working with outside contractors.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure equipment on production lines runs efficiently and effectively.Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and programs.Collaborate with mechanical and electrical maintenance teams to resolve escalated issues.Design equipment tooling such as jigs and fixtures as required.Write manufacturing and work instructions.Manage projects for line upgrades and coordinate with outside contractors.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.4+ years of experience working in manufacturing.Knowledge of robots, PLCs, or hydraulic/pneumatics.Mechanical troubleshooting skills.Experience in automotive manufacturing and electrical troubleshooting.Additional Skills & QualificationsWorking knowledge of industrial maintenance.Experience with Mitsubishi PLCs.Experience with Fanuc robots.Experience with metals manufacturing (e.g., stamping, roll forming, welding).Work Environment
The company designs, manufactures, and assembles wheels for various automotive clients. The facility has about 250 employees and includes equipment such as stamping, roll forming, welding, and painting machinery. The plant can be hot in certain areas during warm months, and some areas are not temperature-controlled. The role operates on a first shift but can expect significant overtime, especially during shutdowns and holidays. The maintenance team currently consists of seven other Maintenance Engineers. The work environment involves exposure to oils and lubricants used in the manufacturing process.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00
