Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is a leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world’s largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy.
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating the developing and leading the site’s Process Safety Management strategies while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Liaise with EHS and other sites to develop best practices and share learning. Daily maintenance activities including the repair and upkeep of all the specialized equipment in the plant and installations of equipment. The incumbent will be is responsible for effectively scheduling supervising the daily maintenance activities through the CMMS system, which includes managing the PM system for the site.
Your responsibilities:Finalizes recommended equipment and instrument designs to accomplish intended safety objectives.Communicates, coordinates, and implements equipment and instrument designs with EHS and Operations personnel.Develops and maintains document control system to ensure accurate P&ID and PFD drawings are available to Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS teams. Ensure drawing changes are documented and timely.Identifies equipment and instrumentation key to our employees’ safety and works to ensure proper preventative and predictive maintenance is performed, spare parts are available, and original design parameters are tested and met. Reports progress toward reviewing and implementing recommended MCE and PHA actions to Operations staff and Senior Management. Provides engineering technical input into process hazard studies, capital projects, and incident investigations and technical support to Maintenance personnel.Works with Production/EHS to perform analyses of assets including; asset utilization, equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and cost of assets. Requirements for the role:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 3 years of Process Engineering experienceMinimum of 5 years working in Process Safety fieldMinimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance environmentAbility to use ACAD and Solid worksKnowledge of PLC’s, ability to read/write code highly preferredStrong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection desirableDemonstrated ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and repair manuals desirableWorking knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, i.e. MP2; highly preferredKnowledge of Process Safety methodologies and tools like Loss Prevention, LOPA, HAZOP, PHA, F&EI, QRA#JMUS
