Team or Function Overview
The Maintenance department plays a critical role in providing support to the production teams through reliable expertise in equipment maintenance and reliability.
Summary
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for engineering functions within the maintenance department to optimize machine operating time. The scope of work involves reducing the failure rate of the equipment & support machinery, optimizing equipment maintainability, extending equipment life and introducing engineering solutions that expedite maintenance services while improving operator effectiveness.
Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Partner with Maintenance Planner to enhance the maintenance department reliability program.
+ Propose and implement AFCE & expense projects to improve reliability for the maintenance department.
+ Lead teams in root cause analysis & develop feasible engineering solutions.
+ Participate in goal-setting, strategy-development, decision-making & planning processes in the maintenance department.
+ Ensure that drawings, renderings & schematics for proposed equipment & machinery modifications are prepared & filed. Maintain accurate as-is drawings, renderings, schematics of equipment & machinery modifications initiated & implemented by the maintenance department.
+ Develop engineering solutions for repetitive equipment failures, excessive equipment wear issues or changeover problems.
+ Employ AutoCAD expertise to develop detailed engineering drawings for new projects as well as existing equipment where no drawing exists.

+ Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading
+ Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces

+ Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

+ Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone
+ Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
+ Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
+ Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely
+ Occasionally operate business machines
+ Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
Under This Roof, We Require
+ Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline
+ 3+ years of demonstrated experience in industrial reliability roles
Under This Roof, We Also Value
+ Mechanical Engineering degree Preferred
+ Advanced math and analytical skills
+ Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, data analysis, project management, and root cause analysis.
+ Advanced experience diagnosing and troubleshooting process and equipment problems and preparing procedures, technical bulletins, and equipment specifications.
+ Advancedequipmentandreliability bestpractices
+ Knowledge of control theory, automation and analog & digital communications
