Job Description
As a Set-up Technician crewed to any line, this position is responsible for leading and sustaining a line by performing equipment change-over technical services and supportive line duties. These duties include acting as a Packaging Operator or other necessary line personnel, following SOPs and cGMPs. The Set-up Technician carries out product, size, and machine tooling changes to accommodate components, adjusts machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation, and resolves problems while the product is running.
ResponsibilitiesPerform equipment change-over technical services.Support line duties including Packaging Operator tasks as needed.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).Perform product, size, and machine tooling changes to accommodate components.Adjust machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation.Resolve problems while the product is running.Monitor equipment to ensure optimal throughput.Provide guidance to line personnel on operating the equipment.Perform minor troubleshooting and correct issues with packaging equipment.Inform engineering maintenance technicians of potential equipment issues or failures.Disassemble and assemble filling/packaging equipment as necessary.Set Lot/Batch numbers and expiration dates based on customer orders.Maintain organized and clean tools, free of unnecessary parts.Keep and maintain a clean working area.Perform equipment cleaning by dismantling and assembling equipment according to Equipment Cleaning SOPs.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or GED and two years of packaging setup/troubleshooting experience OR a 2-year technical degree in maintenance or automation/robotics.Basic knowledge of packaging equipment.Minor troubleshooting and issue correction skills.Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.PLC troubleshooting skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a pharmaceutical, FDA, or other controlled regulatory agency environment is preferred.Experience in a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) packaging or manufacturing environment is preferred.Why Work Here?
