Job Details:
Hours: 10:00pm - 6:30am Sunday night through Friday morning
Pay: $19.00/hr (depending on level of experience) +2.00 Shift Differential.
SUMMARY: This position will maintain the assigned equipment throughout the company owned farms and is responsible for the quality of the equipment operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all repairs to motors (electric/gas/diesel) and electrical equipmentMaintain and operate all farm equipmentMaintain all motors and engines throughout the farmDevelop and maintain a Preventative Maintenance ProgramDevelop and maintain a detailed Parts Inventory PlanAssist in maintaining the farm groundsAdhere to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulationsLearn essential farm animal husbandry practicesOther duties as assigned; inclusive of all farm work responsibilities, cooperating with others as needed to complete necessary tasksQUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to efficiently use hand tools and trades type tools, to provide maintenance of all farm equipmentAbility to operate farm equipment safely and effectivelyStrong mechanic and basic electrical and plumbing background requiredWelding skills requiredAbility to develop and maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program and Parts Inventory PlanAbility to use time wisely while working independentlyWillingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goalsExcellent observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideasWillingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as requiredEducation and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferredAssociates degree or equivalent in farm machines preferredPhysical Requirements / Environment:
Occasionally (1-3 hrs.): crawl, crouch, kneel, squat or balanceFrequently (3-6 hrs.): lift/carry push/pull (up to 45 lbs.), simple/firm grasping, reaching at shoulder height or slightly above, bend/stoop, fine manipulation/hand tools, climb working at unprotected heights when on a ladderContinuously (6-8 hrs.): stand/walk, work around moving machinery, exposed to marked changes in temperature; outside in varied weather conditions, indoors in a regulated environment, around and amongst poultry dust, odor and blood, as well as fumes, talk and hear, use 20/20 vision with or without corrective lensesRequirement: Must have a minimum of 1 years of Facility, Maintenance and/or automotive mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
