The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Facilities Management Operations department is responsible for maintaining, preserving and enhancing the University’s physical assets. We are committed to operational excellence. Core services include custodial, building, and grounds maintenance, in addition to construction and renovation projects done in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Office of Facilities Management. Our goal is to ensure a safe,operational and appealing campus environment.
Performs general housekeeping and janitorial duties. These duties include: sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub and wax floors; machine shampoo carpeting; clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, and other interior fixtures; wash windows, trash cans, and glass doors; clean restrooms and replenish supplies; assists in local building entrance snow removal; sets up and move furniture, equipment and supplies; empty waste baskets, pick up and empty trash; cleans and washes light fixtures and replace light bulbs. Drives campus vehicle to pick up and/or deliver supplies, materials or passengers. Assists in loading and unloading vehicles and moving heavy boxes and supplies. Erects and works from scaffolds or ladders. Participates with skilled maintenance workers performing general maintenance duties. Responds to emergency and after hour calls. Follows prescribed safety regulations and inform management of potential risks or hazards. Completes work requests to notify management of repair work. Performs other related duties as required or assigned. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

The Maintenance Worker I will perform generalhousekeeping duties to provide University employees, students, faculty and guests with a suitable, clean
environment and a healthy atmosphere. Job duties are as follows:
- Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms and other University facilities;
- Stock supplies and perform special projects;
- Operate various types of cleaning equipment and transport materials;
- Support special events, projects, and conferences with setup/tear-down of area;
- Other duties not listed above can be assigned.
The Maintenance Worker I will communicate with all levels of University personnel and have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Communication and decision making may impact business operations and customer service delivery.
The Maintenance Worker I must have the ability to think quickly and adapt to rapidly changingsituations.
High School Diploma/GED is required. Housekeeping and/or previous cleaning experience is preferred.
AppropriateChild Protective Clearances (CPC) will be required.
