Job DescriptionPosition Overview: (Day Shift)
Safely and effectively operate one-step equipment, including Nissei and related machinery, in accordance with production requirements. Troubleshoot problems to maintain operational efficiency and quality. Retrieve and record related production data and communicate effectively with coworkers to maintain production flow and respond to changes in the production schedule. Ensure production of a high-quality product in accordance with customer specifications.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up and operate all one step machines within the scope of responsibility to ensure they are running and producing quality products, including Nissei and related machines.Quality Monitoring: Check and monitor quality on machines as required, recognize visual quality defects, and make necessary adjustments. Use Customer Profile to ensure finished product meets specifications.Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot problems as they arise and communicate machinery and equipment issues to supervisor and/or maintenance personnel accurately and in a timely manner.Maintenance Assistance: Assist department personnel on mold changes and preventive maintenance based on schedule.Technical Guidance and Oversight: Provide technical guidance and direction to other department personnel, including operators, box makers, and temporary workforce. Oversee packers in the area to ensure required quality checks during packaging.Cycle Time and Setup: Maintain cycle time checks on machines and maintain machine setup sheets.Training and Development: Utilize the Levels Program training to increase technical and leadership skills. Provide input and technical assistance in revising technical content for training programs.Data Collection and Recording: Utilize, maintain, and monitor orderly process, maintenance, and machine reference logs/books. Record daily production numbers and enter information into SAP. Process production tickets and correct tickets as required.Cross-Training: Cross-train on one-step machines and related equipment as part of normal job progression.Leadership and Training: Provide leadership and training for Nissei Operators and new Nissei Shift Technicians.Fill in for supervisor position as needed.Activity Logging: Complete daily logs of activities and record information regarding equipment downtime.Material Handling: Move materials using proper equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.Communication: Clearly communicate relevant information to oncoming shift personnel, supervision, maintenance, and other personnel as required. Provide a positive team environment.Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with Company standards. Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), LOTO, and safety rules.Additional Tasks: Perform other related assignments at the direction of supervision.Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior manufacturing experience required; blow-molding, plastics experience strongly preferred.Interpersonal Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.Technical Skills: Ability to learn and apply SAP system, RealSPC, and Customer Profiles. Troubleshooting skills. Internal candidates should have completed Levels Program for Two Step Machine OperatorOther Requirements: Attention to detail, ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment, interpret and follow instructions, and flexibility for 12-hour shifts and schedule changes.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for production shifts, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and perform physical activities like squatting, bending, and kneeling. The pay range for the above-referenced position is determined by taking into account many factors such as experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, education, and other business-related factors. Salary decisions are based on each job. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $28.20 - 29.65 per hour.
