Maintenance Inventory Specialist

Join us as our new Maintenance Inventory Specialist This position under some supervised direction oversees and coordinates efficient maintenance operations by managing inventory for maintenance, repair, and operations supplies for a 24/7 operation. This role focuses on optimizing stock levels, troubleshooting discrepancies in stock accuracy and assisting with process improvements to ensure uninterrupted support for maintenance activities. The position is fluent in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), credit card, and a computerized purchasing system. In this role you'll make an impact by: + Using and understanding of a CMMS database for monitoring and managing spare parts inventory levels to minimize inventory costs and maximize service levels + Fluently using and understanding of computerized purchasing system to order/receive parts and supplies for the Maintenance Department + Maintaining parts storage areas to meet local safety requirements for storage and handling for all building site locations and + Receiving, inspecting and transporting materials to proper storage area, and staging areas for assigned work orders + Communicating to maintenance staff material order status for planned work, routine and emergency repairs + Processing invoices via SAP ensuring accurate posting to orders received + Developing a process to performs routine cycle counting to improve stock level accuracies + Creating inventory-related CMMS reports and evaluate for trends as requested by Supervisor + Setting up parts hierarchy in CMMS + Training entry level Specialists or others in the department as back-ups to the role + Verifying Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date for incoming materials and submit to Environmental Health and Safety group for any revised or new SDS’s + Maintaining good record keeping systems for electronic documents and/or hardcopy storage + Pick-uping parts as needed from vendors using company truck + Maintaining area housekeeping standards according to GMP and FSMA standards + Utilizing Lean tools (Root Cause Analysis, Waste Walks, etc.) to evaluate area of responsibility for discrepancies or inefficiencies and recommend improvements to Supervisor + Negotiating with suppliers to obtain quality products, optimum pricing, timely deliveries To succeed you must have: + Ability to read, write and speak English; Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts for calculations, estimating, spending purposes + Excellent organizational and time-management skills; Strong attention to details + Data entry skills are required + Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments and suppliers + Negotiation skills are required when ordering parts + Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, database and spreadsheet software + Understanding of drawings and specifications as it relates to equipment or parts + Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift + Able to professionally present technical information tailored to a broad audience + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Ability to mentor and support junior team members + A mechanical maintenance background is preferred + High School Diploma/GED/Technical Trade School or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or related field + Proficiency in CMMS inventory management systems and Purchasing systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent) Could our purpose be yours?
