Job Summary
We are looking for a Multicraft Maintenance Lead who will be responsible for ensuring their crew safely completes a wide range of tasks under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager. The ideal candidate thrives in a 24/7 fast paced environment where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities. The Maintenance Lead provides direction to their employees, and coordinates support for all equipment and facility work orders and repairs. The lead supports safe, timely, and quality maintenance, with a sense of urgency and accountability for equipment uptime. They will also interact and communicate effectively with all GAF employees with a positive, customer focused attitude.
Essential Duties
Assist in the prioritizing, planning, and scheduling of maintenance work
Be a technical resource and provide leadership for daily operations and maintenance tasks.
Analyze maintenance problems and devise solutions
Analyze and implement training to meet the needs of mechanics
Coordinate with production and engineering on new projects and upgrades
Focus on continuous improvement projects to address inefficiencies
Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of mechanics
Provide leadership to other mechanics for the troubleshooting and safe execution of all maintenance related work
Possess superior electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills and an ability to interact with all plant personnel to effectively solve operational issues
Ability to authorize the following permits: Hot Work, Elevated Work, Roof Access
Support job/project planning as needed to ensure the safe and efficient execution of electrical work
Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition
Detects, reports and repairs faulty operation, defective material and equipment and other unusual conditions to
teammates and appropriate personnel
Collaborates with appropriate personnel to transmit and exchange information pertinent to work related activities
Responsible for operation of machines and equipment in compliance with Standard Operating Procedure
Responsible for communicating quality and machine problems to supervisor, team members and maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment resulting in operational downtime ensuring the essential care, maintenance and operation of the equipment
Conducts Preventative Maintenance procedures that may be performed on facility equipment to ensure the essential care, maintenance and operation of equipment
Works with applicable predictive technologies to improve operations
Maintains tools and test equipment to maintain plant electrical systems
Assists with maintaining accurate records to include but not limited to: Maximo, storeroom, calibration, and drawings
Assists supervision in the design of new equipment as well as replacement equipment to enhance the performance of plant electrical systems
Works in conjunction with Operations to ensure that all equipment has been tested and is working in a safe manner and with satisfying results
Works scheduled shifts and overtime as assigned
Be a technical resource and provide leadership for daily operations and maintenance tasks.
Planning and assigning maintenance work.
Identify and address opportunities to provide troubleshooting assistance and informal training to mechanics.
Assist in development of preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
Develop documentation of equipment maintenance including inspection, repair, and modifications.
Provide technical guidance to Production Team Members in proper maintenance procedures.
Conduct technical audits of equipment periodically in order to keep equipment at full operation.
Actively pursue and maintain plant safety.
Under This Roof We Require
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
5+ yrs experience in leading a high performance maintenance team
General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to respond to requests in a professional and timely manner
Strong planning, prioritization, organizational and reporting skills

Highly self-motivated
Ability to work well and communicate well with other GAF employees, at all levels in the organization

Ensure a smooth hand off between shifts
Assure that Maximo work orders are correct and fully completed, including parts usage, accurate assigned time and detailed and descriptive notes and comments.
Run the rollover meetings including the safety discussion, updating and maintaining the SQCCE board, describing the current work being rolled over and potential work that may need to be completed during the on-coming shift.
Assure that all 5S areas, tools, and cabinets are maintained in the “tour ready” condition.
Lead the maintenance team in POKA, Continuous and EHS improvements, and GBS initiatives.
Ensure that all departmental expectations are met or exceeded.
Use verbal coaching with team members, as needed.
